Launching the blog with a story

I have been thinking about starting this blog for a while, so I could catalog and share the things I have found. I would have posted yesterday, but I had to go to bed when I finished reading the ToS, Privacy Policy, etc. I thought it would be good to start this blog off with a story.

Yesterday, as I was working at my computer, three teens—two boys and a girl—walked by on the other side of the street, going south. They were spitting airsoft pellets at one another. At this point I thought they were some sort of small bits of food. I watched them through binoculars until they were out of sight, then decided to take the dog for a walk and follow them. At this point I saw what the pellets were and picked one up [Item 1 (collection)]. A minute later I picked up one of the containers the pellets came in[Item 2], with 9 left. I walked down through the small park they had crossed and saw the lid to another container off to the side of the path, which I noted for later. Next I picked up some toy gun fragments[Item 3a] a little lower in the park, then the rest of the gun with a piece missing from the side[Item 3b]. I followed them the rest of the way down the hill (still south) and turned right then left to go down an alley parallel to the road they were on. I then came out of the alley and walked on the opposite side of the street to them for a few blocks, slowing twice as they paused to pet a couple of dogs in their yards. Intending to cut them off, I turned right (west) but I—being ahead of them at this point—realized that they had turned in the same direction. I turned left and then right down another alley just as they came to the corner. About halfway down the alley I realized I had lost them and decided to first check the main road to the left then, if they weren't there, turn back and go north. This is what I did, and I didn't see them again. I walked back to the park I mentioned before and collected the container lid[Item 4a]. I walked the rest of the way on the other side of the street from the one I started on and picked up a container missing the lid[Item 4b].

I'm having trouble getting pictures into my computer right now. I'll have to post them later.
